Jon Udell has had a pretty lousy (but fairly typical in the IT PR world) experience with Google. There’s too many occasions in the tech industry where PR teams jump in to “facilitate” conversations between tech journalists and product teams, when in fact all the journalist wants to do is find out more about the product. As a technology journalist, you need to keep abreast of what’s happening even when you’re not working on a story – something that PR teams often forget about.
