Good news: Kai Krause returns to DEMO in a fireside chat
Kai’s one of the computer industry’s true individuals, and it’s great to see him back.

One of the major benefits of working at The Digital Village was all the famous names passing through, and I was once lucky enough to be present when Kai demoed a bunch of his recent stuff to a handful of us. He has that perfect Jobs technique of piling through stuff quickly, spending a while on features that bore the techies (who think it’s dead easy) and then, out of nowhere, prompting a “Wait… do that again?”
None of the stuff he showed us ever saw proper release, alas. I remember him telling us about this Russian company he’d bought who made handheld laser scanners that could spit out contour maps of any object instantly. This was back in ’97.
